Shiloh Baptist Mission Trip

April 20 - 25, 2015

Update:

As seen by the pictures, Shiloh successfully completed their mission to dry-in the restroom pavilion. A group from another area is following close behind to continue the work.

Thank you to the team members, Richard Barrett, Mike Oliver, Scooter Albritton, Jeff Gordon, Cecil Kilburn, Jimmy Usry, and George Usry, for sacrificially giving your time, talents, and money to help Upper Cumberland Association of Baptists with this project. You have inspired all of us!

Also thank you to those who gave to make this project happen. Gifts came from Shiloh Baptist, Friendship Baptist Association, Americus First Baptist, Whitewater Baptist, and Mr. Willard E. Brunson.

A Note From Bro. Charles

A group from Shiloh Baptist is undertaking a construction project through our Mission Partnership with Upper Cumberland Association in Kentucky.  This project is top priority as camp season approaches.  Their associational camp is in bad need of a restroom to accommodate the many boys and girls that will be ministered to in June and July.  As a matter of fact, Friendship Association will be conducting a camp for them beginning the week of July 6th and it would be wonderful if this project can be finished well before then.

The immediate need is for $2,500.00 to add to what has been raised through the church and association budget.  Upper Cumberland has so few resources due to extreme poverty, we are just trusting the Lord for what is needed so that when these men get there (taking time off work and paying their way there and back) they will have all the materials to dry in the building.  If you feel so led of the Lord, please let your church know of the need and see if any are willing to give.  I know time is short, but I hope we can quickly pull everything together to help our brothers with this project.  If you would like to give, you may send your gift to Friendship Baptist Association and designate it for the "Mission Partnership Fund--Shiloh Project" and we will promptly get it to them with a list of donors.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call me anytime on my cell at 229-938-5186.  Thanks for your attention and help with this urgent matter.  God Bless and have a wonderful Easter!

Request from Shiloh Baptist Church

A group from Shiloh Baptist Baptist has committed to a mission to the Upper Cumberland Association April 20-25, 2015.  The purpose of this mission trip is to make repairs and improvements to the Howard Memorial Camp in Wallins, Kentucky.  This is the camp that a group from Friendship association stayed at many years ago.  The camp will host mission, outreach, and evangelism for area children this summer.

First, please pray for this mission.  Pray for their safety and health while traveling and working at the camp.  Pray that God will bless this effort to prepare the camp for a tremendous summer of sharing the Gospel to the people of Harlan County, Kentucky.

Second, this is a construction purposed mission.  Material costs will be substantial.  Pray that funds for the needed materials will be available.  The designated priority of the camp is additional bathrooms.  The plan calls for a building that will house both boys and girls bathrooms.  The foundation is scheduled to be in place and ready for the Shiloh group to build on.  During this April mission, the group is planning to build the shell of the building including a roof so that it is protected from the weather until the next phase can be completed.

The estimated need for this “dry in” phase is $5000.   Half this amount, $2500, is already available, so the remaining need for materials to complete the “dry in” phase is $2500.  Total cost to complete the bathroom facilities is $14,000.  A 2 week lead time is needed on ordering some materials for the planned project.  If you are led by the Spirit to participate by contributing financially, please contact the Friendship Association office at 937-2350 or the association website for options to make a contribution.
